We have already covered the Men’s World Championship in the latest article, but now we’d like to share some news about the Cornacchia players in the women’s competition. Croatia has the roster with more Hall of Fame members from our tournament in Pordenone, with even seven players, the others are in the National teams of Bulgaria, Japan, Netherlands and USA.
During the years we hosted many times the National Team from Croatia, but also regional selections such as the Istrian one, or clubs as our friends of ŽOK Pazin. Here you are the full list of Cornacchia World Cup players that took part at the World Championship with Croatia:
The World Campionship reflects very well our international level. USA for example is playing with Sarah Wilhite and Hannah Tapp. They both played the Cornacchia World Cup in 2013 with Northern Lights, from Minnesota. Sarah also received the Best Hitter Award in Pordenone. About Japan, in 2019 during a truly unforgettable final, they won against Italy with Yoshino Sato. The other members from our Hall of Fame to take part at the World Championship are: Celeste Plak (Netherlands 2012) and the Bulgarians Radostina Marinova (Kazanlak Volley 2017) and Mila Pashkuleva (Maritza Plovdiv 2018). Well done all of you and all the best for your careers, hopefully see you again in Pordenone.
With still months to go, the 2026 edition is already confirmed as the biggest Cornacchia World Cup ever. Challenge the World Champions of the future.
